Hello everyone,
Before I start
off with my interview experience, let me introduce myself. I’m
Prashanthi and I have completed my B.Tech in Electronics &
Communication from Sastra University and I’m placed in Freshdesk as
a product consultant. To add on to that, I was in the same state as
you guys last year knowing nothing about what was in store for me
during the campus selections. Coming on to the queries which many of
you might have-Why freshdesk?It’s nothing related to core right ?
It’s a startup etc etc.Before I share my experience let me give a
brief insight on why Freshdesk! I have always loved client
interaction and I feel that this job was tailor-made for me.The pre
requisites are that you need to be a good communicator,clear and
coherent,have the thirst to learn and must have some technical
knowledge.To answer the other half please take a look at these
videos,they are really short !
So,going on to my
experiences,Freshdesk visited Sastra during the 8th
semester and the eligibility was 7 cgpa with no arrears.
ROUND 1:
The 1st
round was email writing.They gave us three problem statements for
which we had to send emails.This round needed absolutely 0
preparation.For example,one of the question went this way :
Mr.Chan hails
from China and he wants to book a ticket from Mumbai to Delhi using
IRCTC website.However,he has some problems doing it.He has sent an
email regarding this(A short one is given based on the problem).As an
IRCTC support member,write an email to help him out.
ROUND 2 & 3:
After the email
writing round,there were 2 rounds of Skype interviews the next day.It
was just basic HR questions and they looked out for how you approach
the questions.Many were customer oriented questions,as in,convince me
to buy a product.You should be pretty good at cell phone & laptop
features to convince them,this is where the technical knowledge
helps.They asked me questions like if a customer is angry how to
handle them,if they are irritated how to handle them etc.Be straight
forward and put yourself in the customer support members’ shoes and
answer those questions.I was interviewed by the product consultant
head and my interview went on for 45 mts.There was elimination at the
end of round 1.
Round 3 was
conducted by the CEO of Freshdesk,Mr.Girish Mathrubootham.This was a
short interview for about 20 minutes.He asked me certain questions
from my resume and he asked me to teach my favourite concept from any
of the subjects.I chose Time Assigned speech interpolation from
Digital communication.

hi prashanthi. First and foremost congrats on getting placed in Freshdesk :) Now to my question,do you have any idea about Group discussion round? this time they are using this round as an eliminator.I dont know what kind of preparation i need to do for this.
