Round 1:
60 standard, non-computer related, aptitude questions (including English). The questions were not very difficult but the time was less, only an hour (or 75 mins, not sure). There was no negative marking, so it’s important to attend ALL the questions. If you cover Agarwal and FACE (Pre-Placement Training Materials) topics it should be enough.
Round 2:
Only around 40 were selected for the next round. The second round was a HR round. They asked general stuff like strengths, weaknesses, why lister?, why do you think we should take you?, etc. If you have participated in culturals, they’ll ask about the events and stuff. Learn as much about the company as possible and the technologies they use.
Round 3:
Technical round. 21 people were selected for this round. Many varied topics were asked. One of my friend was asked to draw the ER diagrams for a database (She said that her interest was DB and DW). One was asked about a mining algorithm which he used (He said that his interest was Data Mining). For some EEE and ECE students they asked about Bernoulli’s theorem. For me and some others, it was weird. They asked basic math, biology, and chemistry questions. First, the interviewer saw my resume and read that I prefer Java, so he asked me some basic questions like what is java byte code, jvm, and oops concepts. Then he asked me to write the binomial theorem, then he asked me how much ml of blood is one unit and what is the oxygen-carrying component of blood (he read that I had donated blood in my resume). 450 ml and hemoglobin are the answers btw. Then he asked me the difference between one mole and one equivalent. And also what is the value of Avogadro’s number.
This whole round was weird and unpredictable. One of my other friend said he liked cars and he started asking questions about the different types of engines and stuff. So be careful about what you say as the topic of interest.
Finally 11 were given FTE offers and 4 (not sure) were given internships. The major hurdle with lister is the first round, where majority of people are eliminated. If you cross that, then you have a good chance at cracking the interview. Be thorough with all the things in your resume and be familiar with what you say as your area of interest.
Good luck. If you have any further queries, feel free to contact me.
